Long line, gillnets and
traps represent the core of gear used by Artisan Fisheries.
Other fishing gear can be divided in two categories: Sport Fishing gear and Non- Selective gear. The latter is mainly used by industrial boats such as purse seiners and trawlers, the first by recreational fisheries such as rod (game) fishing, surfcasting and spear fishing (diving) Non-selective fishing gears in the Artisan sphere may be the beach seine and the selective industrial gears related to sports fishing may be the pole & line (tuna fishing) kite Fishing, jigging and trolling.

A Belitronic automatic jigging machine. The machines operates a vertical line with one or more hooks, A sinker in the bottom of the jig tells the computer where the bottom is. The line is hauled automatically when the amount of fish is reaching a certain weight. Are also used as squid jig, and trolling machine.
