Situation: The population of the nearby areas from the fishing village we just described in the above link, is partly dependent of food aid, delivered from time to time in the form of rice and maize-meal, and malnutrition has been detected. It has been constituted that increased activity from fishing may correct the diet of the local population.

Solution: Financing has been made available to increase productivity of fishing.

Assessment, business plan and feasibility

1. Business outline. Can the profits from export of high-value fish and seafood repay the loan? Market values, operational expenses, resources.

2. Assessment of accessibility to markets, roads, working fish markets, export documentation bureaucracy, packing materials, veterinary services that satisfy recipient in the export market, and airline / sea transport connections.

3. Catch handling infrastructure, production of ice for preservation of export products, security, level of experience / training program

4. Sun or mechanical drying facilities for the catch not exported, to be sold to the local population.
